Weald Insurance has announced the purchase of Sussex-based regional broker, Cronin Underwood. Today’s purchase is Weald’s first acquisition since becoming an Ethos Broking partner in 2018.
Established in 2005, Cronin Underwood is a commercial lines focused business with strong property owners and commercial combined books of business. The business which is currently based in Eastbourne, Sussex will transfer into Weald’s Kent office with immediate effect.
Commenting on the purchase, Chris Gibbs, Weald’s MD said: “I’m delighted to be making our first acquisition as part of the Ethos Broking family. Being part of this wider group is enabling us to complete acquisitions of brokers that share our culture and future vision.

Established in Westerham Kent, Weald Insurance Brokers has built a strong reputation specialising in property-related and commercial risks. The brokerage controls in excess of £14m GWP and employs over 40 people.
