Tulsi Naidu joins Group Executive Committee as CEO of the Asia Pacific region

Zurich UK has announced that Tim Bailey, who is currently Group Chief Operating Officer for EMEA, will take on the role of UK CEO subject to Board and regulatory approvals.

Tim has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance sector and has worked in several key roles across the Zurich Group. Previous roles he has held include; CEO of Life and Investments (Australia), Chief Risk Officer and Head of Strategy for the Global Life business.

Tim has made a huge impact on the business, spearheading its approach in EMEA on major issues such as Covid-19. Tim has also been very closely involved in Zurich’s response to Brexit which will stand him in good stead in his new role.

Tim Bailey, Chief Operating Officer for EMEA comments: "I’m delighted to be taking on the role of UK CEO from 1 January and to be re-joining the UK business, where I started my career in insurance over 20 years ago. I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with the UK team for the last year as EMEA COO and seen the tremendous progress that has been made under Tulsi’s leadership. I’m looking forward to joining such a talented leadership team, responding to the rapidly-changing environment and continuing to deliver great service to our UK customers and distribution partners."

Following four years in tenure, UK CEO Tulsi Naidu will join the Zurich Group Executive Committee to take over as regional CEO of the Asia Pacific region from the 1st January 2021. Tulsi has led the UK business since 2016. During her tenure, she has reshaped and simplified the business, improved technical and digital capabilities and strengthened the team, resulting in Zurich’s UK business returning to strong growth with improved profitability. In addition, the business has continually developed to now achieve its highest ever customer, distributor and employee satisfaction scores.

Today’s announcement from the UK forms a major part of Zurich Group’s progress in ramping up its global business to meet the rapidly changing needs of consumers. The Zurich Group is launching a new unit to expand digital services worldwide. The Global Business Platforms unit will be headed up by current APAC CEO Jack Howell.
