Earlier this week Steve Redgwell, Chief Executive Officer of PIB Group’s Specialty Division, posted a note on LinkedIn letting his connections know that he was diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease just under four years ago (see below).
Steve is someone that youTalk-insurance's Managing Director Paul Handleigh has known for over 25 years and to say this news came as a shock would be a huge understatement.
We’re sharing this news because we’re sure that members of the wider UK insurance family would want to support Steve in his courageous and worthwhile endeavour:
Steve’s note:
“Hey everyone, just under four years ago I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). I've kept this to close family and friends since diagnosis for many reasons, but I want to help families living with MND. MND is a progressive disease that causes deterioration in the functioning of the body to which there is no cure. I want to help, so on Sunday 2nd October 2022.
I am going to attempt a 10km walk along the South Bank in London to raise money for an incredible charity called Challenging MND This horrendous disease doesn't just affect the individual, it impacts their whole family and by helping them continue to create lifelong memories, whilst giving carers and loved ones some respite to recharge their batteries, we can help people to stay strong.
Challenging MND is a charity that has inspired me and does exactly that!
