Les Brewin swaps purple for orange as he joins PIB owned Cobra Network

Cobra Network is on a roll delivering on their ambitious growth plans.

New members continue to join and new hires have come onboard to further strengthen the team. One of the latest additions is network veteran Les Brewin, former MD of the highly successful Purple Partnership.

Les joins Cobra Network, after leaving Marsh Commercial in 2020 where he was MD of the Purple Partnership which he created in 2009. He arrives as Cobra goes from strength-to-strength since the launch of a refreshed proposition and modern branding, new insurer partners, and the addition of more products and services.

Andy Tedstone, CEO for Cobra Network commented: “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Les to Cobra. His arrival is perfect timing for us as we accelerate our growth journey. We’ve enjoyed a lot of developments over the last year that have greatly broadened and enhanced our proposition. This has led to significant growth as a result of the changes we’ve made and investment in the team.”

In 2020, membership grew by over 30% thanks to improvements to the overall proposition, and our 2020 satisfaction survey revealed that 94% of existing members would recommend the network to other brokers.

Andy Tedstone commented: “We’ve had a fantastic start to 2021 and have ambitious plans for the future of the network. Les is a great asset to have on our team and we are looking forward to tapping into his wealth of knowledge and expertise. He joins our strong team which has extensive combined experience of networks and the independent broking sector.”

Cobra Network was acquired by PIB Group in 2019, which led to an injection of new investment into the network. Les will report into Andy to support the growth ambitions of the network and work closely with the wider team on a number of strategic initiatives.

Les Brewin commented: “Having dedicated many years building the Purple Partnership, it needed to be an exceptional opportunity for me to consider making a return to the sector. Cobra Network is that opportunity and I have been following their journey with great interest since their acquisition by PIB Group. I am impressed with their developments and how the team has stayed true to their commitment to support independent brokers. The number of new members joining is testament to their work and I’m excited about being able to continue with my passion for supporting regional brokers. The Cobra Network proposition is a fantastic offering and I look forward to helping more brokers reap the benefits it can bring them and working closely with the wider team.”
