Insurance unites for 'It’s a Knockout' in support of Alzheimer's Society

On 11th September, the great, good and downright average of the insurance world unite for an “It’s a Knockout” experience to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society. Insurers, brokers, loss adjusters and the CII will meet to compete in the 1980s TV classic – with prizes and professional pride at stake, in support of the Insurance United Against Dementia campaign.

Three insurers – AXA, Traveler’s and Zurich are all hoping for success in what should be a fun-filled day where there is a serious purpose. Four brokers – A-Plan, Aston Lark, Bollington and Bridge are also supporting the day with teams of 10 and they are joined by Loss Adjusters Crawford & Co, and the CII.

With one person developing dementia every three seconds globally, the IUAD campaign is uniting the sector to fund groundbreaking research into the care, cause, cure and prevention of the condition.

Al Stewart, AXA’s Marketing and Broker Development Director is delighted with the support from across the industry:

“It’s a fabulous cause. Very few families are untouched by dementia and having seen what some of the guys did last year climbing Mont Blanc for InsureTrek, I thought AXA should really get involved – maybe not such a heroic enterprise – the most anyone will suffer will be humiliation in front of their colleagues and competitors, but we are really looking forward to it.”

Alice Hardy, Head of Development at Alzheimer’s Society, said:

“It’s great to see such a diverse group of companies from across the insurance sector get involved in support of our work for people living with dementia. We hope everyone has a great day while raising money for a knockout cause.”
