Gallagher has announced that Malcolm Payton has joined its London-based Specialty division, as Managing Director, to lead its newly combined Property Casualty & Special Risks business, with immediate effect. Malcolm will report to John Thompson, CEO of Gallagher Specialty, and become part of his Executive Committee.
Since 2015, Malcolm has been a Managing Partner of Gallagher subsidiary Capsicum Re — which is now 100% owned by Gallagher — having joined the reinsurance specialist to run its facultative reinsurance division. Malcolm brings over 30 years of direct and facultative experience and, prior to Capsicum Re, he was the head of property and energy for Guy Carpenter Facultative UK, having previously overseen its international property division. He has also held senior leadership positions with JLT Re and Aon.
