Compass Broker Services surpasses £585 million GWP as new training academy and marketing proposition unveiled

Continued strong performance at Compass Broker Services, the UK networks division of Arthur J. Gallagher, has seen it welcome nine new members since the start of 2015, taking the total gross written premium controlled by its independent insurance broker members to more than £585 million.

The news comes as Compass prepares to unveil its latest exclusive member products and services at its conference in Northamptonshire’s Whittlebury Hall on Thursday 26 February 2015. Headline developments this year include the launch of Compass Academy, offering access to flexible training facilities and courses that can be tailored to member requirements, and a newly developed marketing platform that has been designed and built specifically to satisfy the needs of an insurance broker.

John Lincoln, Managing Director of Compass Broker Services, commented: “Not only is it brilliant to be welcoming so many new members at this year’s conference but great to be able to immediately offer them brand new propositions that have been fully tailored to their specific needs — propositions that could ultimately have a fundamental impact on their future commercial success and growth. Compass has no intention of standing still and we’ll continue to innovate and invest in solutions to ensure the UK’s strong independent broker community thrives.”

Among the latest members to join are Hampshire-based Goodmans Commercial and motor trade and fleet specialist Broadsure Direct.

Trevor Pretty, Partner at Goodmans Commercial Insurance Brokers LLP, said: “Alongside the value-added services and support provided, what we liked about Compass was the strength of its relationships with a broad panel of insurers and underwriters, personalised access to the Lloyd’s and London markets, and wide range of specialist products and services – all of which help us to deliver to our clients the tailored solutions we pride ourselves on.” He added: “As a fiercely independent broker, it was the complete control Compass offered us, the freedom to trade and place business as we wish that was the deciding factor in us becoming a partner.”

Martyn Brooks, Proprietor at Broadsure Direct, said: “Compass offers a great combination: all the support we need from a broker network but in a partnership that guarantees our independence, by ensuring we remain in total control of our clients and where we place their business.”

Compass Broker Services, which launched in January 2013, now has well over 200 members controlling a gross written premium in excess of £585 million.
