Brokerbility unveils new Managing Director and other senior executive changes

John-Dunn,-Managing-Director,-Brokerbility

Brokerbility, the network for independent brokers, has announced a series of changes to its senior leadership team who will deliver on the next phase of its strategy, proposition and growth plans.

John Dunn has been appointed to the role of Managing Director of Brokerbility, with responsibility for leading the network on the next phase of its growth strategy. John is also Managing Director of Brokerbility member Luker Rowe. John previously held senior positions at Allianz, which latterly included leadership of its Luton branch, before joining Luker Rowe. Prior to that, John led the head office property underwriting team, as well as its commercial strategic initiatives and London Market Real Estate team. During his time at Allianz, John built a broad awareness of networks, working with Brokerbility members and also partners in the Willis Network, UNA Alliance, Ten Insurance network and Ataraxia, amongst others.

John will be supported by Ian Stutz, who has been appointed as Executive Chairman of Brokerbility. Ian has been building and shaping Brokerbility for over 14 years and will continue to play an integral part in its future strategic direction.

Michelle South has been appointed as Director of Operations, with responsibility for growing the Brokerbility proposition for members.

Michelle joined Brokerbility four years ago and has played a key role in building the network’s scheme facilities. Before joining Brokerbility, Michelle held senior roles at Willis UK and AVIVA.

Brokerbility was founded in 2006 as a group of like-minded, high quality independent brokers that share common values and goals. Brokerbility combines the best elements of being a genuine independent community and niche or specialist broker with the market presence and depth of resources of a national broker. The overall goal for the organisation is to support the brokers within the group to make them fitter and stronger independent brokers within the business sectors they operate in. In September 2020, The Clear Group acquired Brokerbility Holdings Ltd, comprising its broking, network and technology businesses.

John Dunn said: “I’m delighted to be leading Brokerbility on the next phase of its growth journey. We already have an attractive proposition, which offers real value to members and will be seeking to enhance this over the coming months. In my time at Luker Rowe I’ve really seen the value in being part of a community of brokers that faces the market with a strength that represents more than the sum of their individual parts. It’s important that Brokerbility evolves as a network by adapting and continually improving its offering to help members grow.“

Mike Edgeley, Group CEO of the Clear Group said: “Brokerbility has an exciting future under the strong leadership of John, Ian and Michelle. Their addition gives Brokerbility the firepower to enhance its proposition for existing members and in turn attract new members. There’s been a significant amount of consolidation in the market, particularly in medium sized regional brokers, and we see Brokerbility as an essential component in supporting the next wave of smaller independent brokers to achieve their growth ambitions to fill that gap. Ultimately, it’s good for the industry and clients as it ensures there’s choice, a natural cycle of growth and healthy competition.

“Julie Rayson-Flynn will be leaving her position to pursue new opportunities within her professional life.  Julie has been a huge part of Brokerbility over the last 15 years and has worked closely with the Brokerbility team, insurers and members alike. We thank her for all that she has done for us and for Brokerbility members.“
