Many miles of copy have been written about the disruption that is now starting to impact the insurance industry. Techy types within the sector have even given the technological changes that we are all experiencing its own name ‘INSURTECH’.
If you would have used this expression ten years ago you might have seen your colleagues speed dialling for the people in white coats to come and take you away, so traditional and dowdy was some of the thinking back then.
In our own way my colleagues and I at youTalk-insurance had our own insurTech damascene moment over seven year ago when we decided to launch youTalk-insurance as the UK insurance media’s first #MediaTech news, thought leadership and video content aggregator.
Our mission when we launched, which hasn’t changed since we pulled the launch trigger in March 2011, was built around three very simple principals:
Not to interpret the news of others – We exist to disseminate free (we have no subscriber paywall), factual and fair content
To remain completely independent – we have no relationships, ties or affiliations with the insurance press.
An ongoing commitment to fully supporting the broking/risk community and helping in its continued education – as a matter of course we share an abundance of insurer produced thought leadership content.
The unerring support of our insurer partners, leading professional bodies and our large audience of insurance broker/insurer/risk professional subscribers (that’s you if you are reading this) has helped youTalk-insurance to become a mainstay of the UK insurance media landscape.
To demonstrate just how far we have come - In 2017 I was humbled to be recognised by BIBA as their ‘Online Journalist of the Year’ at their annual journalist awards. It related to a blog that I wrote in relation to Customer Connectivity and the insurance industry.
Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated.
Your help please
More recently I have been amazed and delighted all at the same time by the news that youTalk-insurance has been shortlisted for the Willis Towers Watson media awards, in the category of ‘Re/Insurance and Risk Publication of the Year’.
To be in the company of so many other great long-established publications is truly an honour for me and my hard-working highly committed team.
Unlike other awards, this category of the Willis Towers Watson awards doesn’t have a judging panel. Instead they rely on votes made by people working in the profession.
If like the many thousands of visitors to our website you like what we do, my colleagues and I would be very grateful if you would consider voting for us.
All you need to do is CLICK HERE, scroll down to the section which says “Which entry should win the Re/Insurance Risk publication of the year” and select youTalk-insurance.
The vote closes on the 22nd June 2018
Thank you for your continued support.
With best wishes
Paul
