Latest update on Green Cards

Following on from our last Green Card update on 3 August , we promised to keep you updated on any developments and changes.
Since this announcement, the Department of Transport has advised a Green Card may be necessary to travel in certain countries (with the exception of Republic of Ireland) if a caravan or trailer is being towed. Based on this advice, we recommend that for your clients who are travelling with a trailer or caravan where the trailer or caravan is under 3500kgs, you continue to issue a Green Card.
Our focus as always is to ensure your clients have the necessary documents to take their vehicles overseas.
We’ll continue to monitor developments and will contact you with any further updates or actions you or your clients need to take.
In addition to this, from the 1 October, the online Green Card request form currently available on the Aviva Broker website will be removed. For any future Green Card requests, please submit applications through your usual underwriting contact.
