We've launched a 2-year partnership in Manchester and Liverpool with leading national youth work charity UK Youth. They're dedicated to promoting social mobility and helping young people to access fulfilling careers.

In May 2024, we launched our new partnership with UK Youth, who are a leading national youth work charity focusing on social change.

UK Youth is a leading charity with a vision that all young people are equipped to thrive, and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. With an open network of more than 8,000 youth organisations and nation partners; UK Youth reaches more than 4 million young people across the UK. They're focused on unlocking youth work as the catalyst of change that is needed now more than ever.

UK Youth is involved in a range of programmes designed to help young people thrive. This includes outdoor learning, physical literacy, social action and employability. They also partner Hatch, a youth employability programme run in partnership with KFC.

The partnership, based in Manchester and Liverpool, supports young people furthest from the job market and often at a disadvantage when it comes to seeking employment.

More about our partnership with UK Youth

We're partnering with UK Youth for 2 years in Manchester and Liverpool. We aim to help promote social mobility and help young people achieve fulfilling careers. How we plan on doing this:

Building Aspirations Programme

This programme will support 120 young people a year through an employability skills curriculum. This includes access to a scholarship fund towards additional training courses, or to cover the cost of equipment.

The scheme will be delivered through 4 local youth work organisations in Manchester and Liverpool:

RSA colleague mentorship

RSA colleagues will have the opportunity to support and mentor youth workers, sharing their knowledge and experience. They'll directly engage with young people providing career insights and making connections with local business networks.

For local young people not in education or employment (NEET), this will ensure greater readiness and confidence to set career goals.

"I’m absolutely thrilled about this partnership - I have a profound respect for youth work and all that it achieves. We’ve such a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm amongst our colleagues at RSA, and a well-established practice of giving back and volunteering time in our local communities. I’m really excited to get stuck into the Building Aspirations Programme and help transfer the skills of my day job, uplifting talent and helping people to reach their career potential to support young people in the Northwest to achieve their goals." - Georgina Farrell - Chief People Officer at RSA

"We’re delighted to partner with RSA Insurance in our mission to empower young people and promote social mobility. Together, we will create tangible opportunities for those who are not accessing education, employment or training to thrive and succeed. Through this strategic partnership, RSA Insurance and UK Youth are poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people across the UK, working towards our vision for every young person to not only thrive, but actively contribute to their communities, driving positive change and building a more resilient and prosperous society for generations to come." - Ndidi Okezie - UK Youth CEO
