RSA has launched this year’s Broker Leader Programme by welcoming nine new up-and-coming candidates to the course. This year the programme has evolved and been tailored for virtual delivery.

The training course is accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute and enables future leaders from RSA’s key partners to take part in management and leadership training, tailored to the general insurance market.

The intensive seven-month programme, has now developed over 60 brokers, since its inception in 2015. The course is designed to support the candidates in their careers, helping equip them with skills in areas such as leadership, strategy and business planning, change management and financial management.

Each candidate is partnered with a senior RSA employee who mentors them throughout the course. To ensure the programme is relevant and practical, each candidate brings a live project from their business, applying the skills they learn in real time. At the end of the course the candidates will present their business plans for feedback and support from a panel consisting of RSA executives as well as a sponsor from their own firm.

This year’s Broker Leader Programme cohort are:

  • Verity Bradley, Zego
  • John Child, Reich Group
  • Deniz Djemal, Clear Insurance Ltd
  • Katie Freemantle, FSB Insurance Service
  • David Hadkiss, DCJ Group (GRP)
  • David Hale, Sutton Winson
  • Ben Hutson, Luker Rowe
  • Jasmine Mitchell, Cherry Godfrey Insurance Services Limited
  • Robin Woodcock, Towergate

Rob Gibbs, Managing Director, RSA Commercial Lines said:  “We recognised, back when the programme started in 2015, the responsibility we have to help develop future leaders, not only within our own business, but also from our partners. Bringing through future leaders is essential in ensuring the UK continues to have a world beating, thriving and competitive insurance market. I’m delighted to welcome this year’s cohort on to the programme, which will be delivered virtually for the first time.”
