NMU hits 20% of their fundraising target for charity partnership Mind

It’s been two months since we launched our inaugural charity partnership with Mind and we’ve had a great response in such a short time, both in terms of fundraising and establishing event teams for the cause.
Just two months into the partnership, we’ve hit 20% of our £10,000 fundraising target for the year.
NMU Minds
Our Birmingham colleagues got the fundraising off the ground with a pre-launch office event in December, raising £80 but the vast majority of the £2,000 raised so far has come from our heroic NMU Minds, who have signed up to take on a fast-paced and physically challenging adventure – the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. The team, consisting of Charlotte Connelly, Mark Robson, Jane Steele and Tony Phillip from NMU Manchester will take on the National Three Peaks Challenge on the 12th-14th June.
Our mountain goats are enthusiastic about the event and have already started training for the challenge by rock climbing together in their spare time.

Also joining the NMU Minds Team is Andy Baldwin, who has committed to taking on several 100 mile cycling events during 2020, including a 200 weekend on 19th June and the showcase event, Ride London-Surrey 100 on 16th August. Andy is no stranger to cycling long distances but has never taken on two 100 mile events in one weekend, so has started running to give his training a boost.

We have set up an Instagram page to share our teams training progress, fundraising updates and helpful content for anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We will be posting regular stories, fundraising targets, team related updates and important dates to be mindful of. We’re really proud of what the NMU Minds teams have achieved and raised so far. We aim to participate in more events and create more teams who are just as determined and dedicated as those already actively contributing to support the work of Mind.
There are talks of football tournaments, half marathons and even skydives! Watch this space.
