NIG wins ‘Best Insurer Extranet’ for TheHub for second year running

award-win

Authored by NIG

We’re delighted to have won ‘Best Insurer Extranet’ for TheHub at the Insurance Times Tech & Innovation Awards 2021 – and especially proud to have won this award two years running.

This year’s awards took place at the Royal Lancaster London on the evening of Wednesday 3rd November – a welcome return to normality after last year’s virtual ceremony. Back by popular demand, comedian and writer Ivo Graham hosted the event, which celebrates the very best in UK general insurance technology and innovation.

In the judges’ words…

Recognising the distinctive strengths of TheHub, the judges “were particularly impressed with the tools implemented to enhance user experience, as well as the continued drive to innovate. Impressive clarity of vision for the future, coupled with a desire to transform insight into action, made for a compelling winner.”

Recent improvements

Since the 2020 awards, we’ve enhanced and improved TheHub in several ways:

Trade look-up tool – a quick and easy solution to see what trades are acceptable, and on which products, removing the need to start processing a quote before finding out whether it’s possible for a particular trade.

Quick requote – enabling requotes from the bottom of every page of the risk capture, rather than having to navigate through the whole section to resubmit a quote following an amendment.

Companies House look-up – a name-look-up tool for limited companies that automatically completes their full trading name, registered address and year established, saving brokers time.

Increased self-service functionality for property owners and tradesmen –brokers can now transact a policy through its entire life cycle (quote, buy, amend, renew, cancel) without underwriter involvement.

More improvements to come

Dan Burton, eTrade Portfolio Manager at NIG, commented, “It’s great to be recognised by the industry for our market-leading extranet platform, for the second year in a row. It’s down to all the hard work put in by everybody at NIG.  It doesn’t stop there however, and we will continue to make improvements based on feedback from our broker partners.”
