Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced that the winner of the inaugural Liberty Challenge Cup 2022 is team No Paine, No Gain, who won a donation of £5,000 for their chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Liberty Challenge Cup is an annual competition where brokers, underwriters and claims specialists from across the London Market can meet new people to build their networks, compete against their peers in four fun challenges and raise money for charity. The 12 teams nominated a charity at the start of the challenge.

In second place was BD Bandits, their chosen charity Smile received a donation of £3,000 and in third place was Team FINPRO, they nominated The Danny Green Fund which received a donation of £1,000.  The remaining teams’ charities received £500 each. The total prize pot of £13,500 was donated to the 12 teams nominated charities.

The four challenges were held at Bounce, Flight Club, Puttshack and the finale was a Scavenger Hunt within the City of London that ended at the Liberty Specialty Markets office at The Walkie Talkie building where the winning team was revealed.

Jennifer Bird, Senior Marketing Manager, Liberty Specialty Markets said: “Congratulations to the winning team No Paine, No Gain! The competition has been exciting the entire way through with only one point separating the leading teams at the end of the third challenge.

“As a result of COVID restrictions we have all missed out on the face-to-face interaction that is key to building our networks – particularly impacting people who joined the industry during the pandemic. That’s why we launched the Liberty Challenge Cup. We’re determined to support the young talent in the market who will be the leaders of the future.”

Liberty hosted the events with participants from AJG, Marsh, Willis, Howden, Lockton, Tysers, Miller, SCR, Alesco, Aon, Ed Broking, Endeavour Insurance Services, International Risk Solutions, Integro, Bowood, Amwins, Chesterfield Insurance Brokers and Bell & Clements.
