NIS-2 Directive sets new standards for Cybersecurity – HDI Global supports clients with services specially developed

Cyber incidents have become an alarming threat to the global economy. The European Union has now issued clear directives to strengthen IT security. The new EU directive NIS-2 (Network and Information Security Directive 2) is intended to improve cybersecurity in Europe and contains legal measures to compel organisations to strengthen their security precautions. With the implementation of NIS-2 on 16 January 2023, the requirements for cybersecurity for companies in Europe will further increase. The new directive expands the existing provisions from 2016 and organisations affected will be called upon in the future not only to better protect their networks and IT systems, but also to be able to act in the event of a cyber-attack. Penalties for non-compliance with regulations can hit organisations hard and lead to payments in the millions. In addition, NIS-2 creates a legal framework for personal liability of executive bodies for non-compliance.
