ARAG offers 3 months free legal support for MGAA members

We understand that the COVID-19 outbreak has created significant challenges for all businesses. ARAG’s first responsibility has obviously been to our policyholders and our legal advice helpline has been extremely busy. However, we’re aware that businesses in our own market are having to deal with some tricky legal issues too.

We’re offering 3 months of free legal support to members of the Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA), to help them to navigate the continuously changing legal landscape that has emerged as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

We’re making our Business Legal Services website and legal advice helpline available to all full members of the MGAA and contacting them with details of how to access these resources.
The Business Legal Services website offers Law Guides on everyday business legal issues, including health and safety, employment and debt recovery, as well as dozens of interactive legal documents that can be customised for use by the business. The site is frequently updated to reflect legislative changes and we have recently added new document builders for managing staff who now have to work remotely.

The legal advice helpline is available to answer specific legal questions that brokers and MGAs may have as a consequence of the pandemic.

While larger companies may have in-house expertise or a law firm to call upon, there are many small MGAs and start-ups that won’t have access to such resources. The three months of free legal support has been offered to ARAG’s existing business partners, who have also been contacted directly.

We have also been posting regular updates on this website, containing useful information about the rapidly-changing legal environment; details of the support being offered by the Government and answers to many of the questions that our legal advisors are most frequently being asked.
