RSA launches new commercial insurance claims platform

RSA has announced the launch of its new first notification of loss (FNOL) platform, an online portal which will allow insurance brokers to submit commercial FNOL’s digitally on behalf of customers.

The easy-to-use platform streamlines and simplifies the claim reporting process. It has been tested by a selection of brokers since March this year, and is now available to all brokers whose commercial customers have been affected by perils such as weather, theft, accidental damage and escape of water.

Accessed via RSA’s new insurance broker website (www.rsainsurance.co.uk), the platform sets out what information is required to get the claim up and running as quickly as possible. Brokers are asked to submit this detail from the outset, providing claims handlers with greater clarity and foresight, when deciding on next steps. This will also remove the need for follow up questions and additional information requests which can delay the settlement of a claim.

Built in collaboration with brokers, it is designed to free up brokers’ time by enabling them to quickly submit smaller claims so they can concentrate on larger more complex ones where customers need more assistance.

Karl Helgesen, Chief Claims Officer at RSA said:

“We’re delighted to officially launch our new electronic first notification of loss platform. This really is something built by brokers, for brokers as it was absolutely crucial that the technology and process works for them and their customers.

“Brokers can still submit claims by telephone or email, but we’ve heard loud and clear that a more sophisticated route is also what they’re after. The feedback we’ve received throughout the pilot has been really positive and we’re looking forward to talking to more brokers now the new platform is live.”
