Overview

As the UK inflation rate rises to levels not seen in decades; energy prices soar; and global trade sanctions add to existing supply chain woes, we invite you to join us for an informative look at the state of the economy and how it is impacting business confidence and resilience.

Chloe Kahney, QBE Portfolio Manager (Financial Institutions) will be joined by our two guest experts:

Dr Andrew Sentance - Senior Adviser to Cambridge Econometrics, Andrew is a career economist, respected writer and commentator on UK and international economic affairs. He was a member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee during one of the most eventful periods in modern history, when he advocated the idea that interest rate rises were necessary for future economic stability. He also served as Chief Economist and Head of Environmental Affairs at British Airways, and as Economic Policy Director for the CBI.

Simon Garrett – A partner at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP, with offices in more than 40 countries and 5,000+ lawyers worldwide. Simon’s practice focuses on claims against financial institutions, commercial D&O claims and complex professional indemnity disputes involving financial services companies and other professionals, particularly solicitors, IFA’s, insurance brokers, accountants and other financial services professionals. Simon also represents clients facing investigations by regulatory bodies, such as FCA, FRC and Lloyd’s of London.
