QBE has appointed Chris Long as Head of Trading for Glasgow/Belfast.

In the newly created role, Chris will lead the regional underwriting teams in QBE’s Glasgow and Belfast regional offices, engaging with broker partners and customers and driving trading aimed at supporting cross-class customer focussed solutions.

He joins from Allianz where he was Distribution Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Andy Fitzgerald, Director UK Regions for QBE European Operations, said: “We have gained real traction across all our regional offices and Chris’s appointment will further strengthen our growth agenda in Glasgow and Belfast. We have an overall plan to materially grow in the UK through to 2027 and this appointment will further strengthen our ambition to position the UK Regions as a driving force behind our growth.”

Earlier this year, QBE appointed heads of trading for its other UK regions. The appointments included:

  • David Round, Head of Trading, Birmingham
  • Steve Field, Head of Trading, Bristol
  • Janine Wood, Head of Trading Leeds
  • Stacey Flannery, Head of Trading, Manchester.

In the UK, QBE has regional offices in Belfast, Bristol, Birmingham, Chelmsford, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, and Stafford.
