Jonathan Cumpstey, Group Compliance Officer at A-Plan Group, has been appointed as Chair of BIBA’s Motor Panel.  Jonathan, who has been the Deputy Chair since January 2017, replaces Keith Frampton who sadly passed away in January.

Joining the panel in 2013, Jonathan has played a key role in helping the panel to represent the interests of BIBA members and their customers on all motor insurance related matters.

Nik Springthorpe, CEO of One Call becomes Deputy Chair.  He has been a member of the Motor Panel since June 12.  The expertise of Jonathan, Nik and the rest of the panel is recognised not only within the insurance market but also by government, other trade bodies and the media.

Jonathan commented: “It is an honour to accept the role.  Keith did a fantastic job chairing the panel and did so much sterling work on behalf of members. I’m keen to continue that work and honour the commitment and dedication that he gave to BIBA members for so long.”

Nik added: “There are so many issues affecting the motor insurance market right now so we have a busy agenda ahead of us. But we’re all focused and have adapted well as a committee to the new remote way of working – I’m looking forward to taking on the role of Deputy Chair.”

Graeme Trudgill, Executive Director, concluded: “Jonathan and Nik have contributed greatly to the success of the Motor Panel in recent years and I am delighted that they will continue to do so as Chair and Deputy.  The Motor Panel provides a crucial arena for brokers to contribute and shape our engagement with the issues affecting motor insurance today and future developments such as autonomous vehicles, new mobility solutions and vehicle ownership and use trends.”
