David Skinn, Distribution Director – Intermediated Personal Lines:

What does BIBA mean for you?

A fantastic opportunity to spend two days with our brokers and industry colleagues  It will be intense, it will be fun, but overall a great opportunity

What do you hope to take away from the conference this year?

Some fantastic insight on what matters most to our customers, what they think of Aviva and the progress we are making…and hopefully some interesting and funny moments and snippets of insight we won’t get anywhere else.

What would are your key areas of focus?

To listen to what our brokers have to say, to help resolve some of their issues, plus find new and move forward some opportunities to do great things together.

If you could only bang the drum on one thing, what would it be?

Aviva have made some great progress in Personal Lines and have some exciting things happening this year.  I’m keen to talk to our brokers about this and regain our ground in this important part of the market.

Karen Jackman, Director of Regional Brokers, Distribution Strategy and Propositions:

What does BIBA mean for you?

A fantastic opportunity to network with our brokers, competitors and suppliers.   A time to hear about ‘what matters’ in the industry, discuss new opportunities and work through the challenges we are all facing.

What do you hope to take away from the conference this year?

Opportunities to progress, challenges to fix and most importantly good memories from all of the discussions.

What would are your key areas of focus?

Understanding what more we can do for our brokers and our customers, both as an industry and as an Insurer.

If you could only bang the drum on one thing, what would it be?

It would have to be our support for regional independent brokers.  They are the bedrock of our industry.  Plus I’ve just got to mention all of the other things that make me proud - from our work in the industry on claims reforms, our expanding underwriting and territory appetite, and the work that we do with brokers to support their local communities via the Aviva Community Fund.

Fraser Edmond, Broker Distribution Director, National Accounts:

What does BIBA mean for you?

It’s the most concentrated couple of days and nights to catch up with so many of our brokers and meet many new ones all in one place. It’s a chance to tackle any current challenges and unearth some opportunities and get a general temperature check on the market.

What do you hope to take away from the conference this year?

More of the same because BIBA is always valuable to us. Also, the level of consolidation activity is of increasing interest for me as well as hearing about any interesting new businesses in the industry.

What would are your key areas of focus?

Listening, absorbing and having plenty of food for thought to work on in the coming months to be the best for our brokers and customers.

If you could only bang the drum on one thing, what would it be?

One thing is really difficult! No opportunities are off limits; our appetite is becoming wider and wider so don’t just think “old Aviva”, give us a try and be prepared to be surprised…

Gareth Hemming, Director of SME Commercial Lines:

What does BIBA mean for you?

Talking to a lot of people across the insurance industry in a short space of time and getting a real sense check on the mood across a range of issues both strategic and immediate.

What do you hope to take away from the conference this year?

Some good memoires, a few funny stories and some nuggets of insight to work on and develop

What are your key areas of focus?

Understanding where we need to collaborate more as an industry to improve how we perform better for customers be they individuals or business, now and in the future,

If you could only bang the drum on one thing, what would it be?

Complexity and traditional competitive behaviours mean we will fail as an industry, we need to embrace simplicity, digital and collaboration because it’s what customers want – winners will be those who execute on these well, not those who stay stuck competing on todays pitch.
