Towergate has renamed its London Market broking business as Bishopsgate further to the appointment of a number of experienced industry leaders.

Bishopsgate, launched today, promises to give regional brokers better access to market, better service and better deals.

A central pillar of its promise to regional retail brokers is to provide quotes within a guaranteed timeframe and be innovative at working to set up new facilities for specialist products.

Bishopsgate is headed by Managing Director Neil Pearce, who joined in August and was previously managing director at Windsor Insurance Brokers. Neil is supported by broking and distribution director Paul Longhurst who ran the London Market broking team at Bluefin for 25 years, growing the business from £45m to £75m GWP.

Bishopsgate specialises in property, liability, motor, professional indemnity and jeweler’s block insurance.

The new name comes ahead of an office move to 55 Bishopsgate, in the heart of the City, in February.

Neil Pearce, Bishopsgate managing director, said: “Our new name reinforces the incredible roots our team has in the City’s insurance market.

“We have a team with formidable collective experience and a level of integrity and insight that I know are in high demand. We will provide a great environment for talent to come in and work in an un-conflicted truly independent broking house.

“The team and I look forward to visiting and working closely with brokers across the UK to provide with them a first-rate service proposition and via Bishopsgate, access to our extensive panel of Lloyd’s and London Market insurers.”
