Brown & Brown (Europe) Ltd has appointed Carolyn Callan as a Managing Director of its Retail Division.
Carolyn, who was previously Commercial Lines Director at Covéa, joined the business on 1 November 2023, reporting to Duncan Carter, CEO, UK Retail Division.
In addition to assuming oversight for a number of businesses, she will work as part of the Retail Senior Leadership Team to continue to drive the profitable growth of the division, drive operational efficiency and develop and retain talent across the business.

She added: “I have worked with Mike Bruce and his team as a strategic insurance partner for the past five years and my respect and admiration for the team has grown with each passing year.”

About Carolyn:
Carolyn has worked in the UK insurance industry for over 21 years, in both broking and more recently, on the insurer side.
She previously held senior leadership roles at Covea, Towergate and Swinton.
She has a wealth of experience in the Commercial Lines market, both from an insurer perspective in her previous roles as Commercial Lines Director and Head of SME & Schemes at Covea Insurance.
In the broking world, Carolyn was responsible for setting up and leading the commercial division of Swinton as Director of Commercial Insurance. She also oversaw business development and marketing strategy for Towergate’s SME and Advisory Broking operation.
