CII invites new applicants to join its New Generation Group
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is seeking rising stars to join the professional body’s flagship talent programme: The New Generation Group.
The 2019 to 2020 class will be made up of 40 promising professionals split into four groups - claims, underwriting, broking and the London Market.
Members of the four New Generation Groups will get to network with other rising stars from the profession, rub shoulders with key Financial Conduct Authority personnel, meet members of parliament and learn how to handle the media.
Each group will also be asked to work together on a project they believe could make a difference to the insurance profession and present it to the CII’s board.
Previous groups have delivered projects that have challenged the insurance profession on serious issues that impact consumers from claims handling to best practice with vulnerable customers.
To join the CII’s New Generation Group all applicants need to do is send in their CV’s plus a few lines about why they consider themselves as rising stars in the profession. They will also need to confirm that they have line manager approval to take part in the group’s activities.
The closing date for applications is 9 August 2019.
Applicants must be able to prove that they have made significant strides in their professional development and make a strong contribution to the team or department in which they work.
They are likely to hold a minimum qualification of Dip CII level and have five to 10 years of experience within the general insurance profession.
The successful candidates must be members of the CII and part of one of the following four societies: Insurance Broking, Claims, London Market and Underwriting.
Successful candidates must be willing to commit to attend the set development sessions and to dedicate time to the group project.
Keith Richards, managing director at the CII, said: “The CII’s New Generation programme always attracts the most impressive talent in the profession. The programme is a great networking opportunity and will help equip these individuals with the skills they need to thrive with their careers and the projects they work on will also help to shape the future of the profession.”
