At the centre of what we do, we aim to help people, businesses and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times. It's our passion to be a force for good in society.

Our resources and expertise allows us to take meaningful steps to build resilience in communities. This helps towards climate change, economic uncertainty and to support community wellbeing.

The 2023 Intact Social Impact and ESG Report . It shows how we’re meeting our responsibility to be that force for good, and how our words are matched to tangible action.

We’ve set ourselves a clear ambition that 3 out of 4 stakeholders will recognise us as a leader in building resilient communities. This is not something that can be achieved overnight. Instead, it will be grown over time as we continue to make progress and establish impactful partnerships in our 3 strategic pillars:

  • Climate resilience
  • Economic resilience
  • Community wellbeing

What we’re proud of in 2023

We achieved a great deal to build resilience in 2023, and there's so much to take pride in. Here are a few of our key moments:

  • Supported the development and growth of future talent in the industry with the Broker Leader Programme
  • Worked with the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust partnership to invest in nature-based solutions. We also helped to improve local community resilience and protect local habitats
  • Adopted Electric Vehicles into our UK fleet. Nearly 100% of our office-based electricity was sourced from renewable sources
  • Donated a total of £1.24 million to charitable initiatives. These included conservation, education, food poverty, and mental and physical health
  • Given over 8,600 volunteer hours and raised over £260,000 for local causes supporting the most vulnerable in society
  • Achieved our objective of having 36% female representation at the vice president and above level by the end of 2023. We are now on track to achieve our objective of 40% by 2025
  • Committed to a 2-year partnership with UK Youth. The charity helps young people in the Northwest of England build their employability skills

We’ve developed a summary of RSA highlights from the 2023 Intact Social Impact & ESG Report.
