MS Amlin celebrates International Women’s Day

International-Womans-Day-2020

Authored by MS Amlin

This year’s International Women’s Day campaign theme is #EachforEqual.  It focuses on the idea that equality is not a women’s issue but is a business issue and collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world. Here at MS Amlin we understand the importance of gender parity, but also acknowledge that we as an organisation and industry as a whole, still have some way to go.

To mark International Women’s Day, we hear from three colleagues who reflect on some of the challenges they have faced in their careers and discuss the importance of International Women’s Day.

At MS Amlin improving our gender diversity is non-negotiable. In recent years, we have made a number of significant operational changes with the aim of achieving a truly inclusive environment. This includes; the roll out of Work-Life-Better, our working initiative which gives employees a more flexible approach to working hours to support a better work-life balance. There has also been a complete overhaul of our recruitment process which ensures we have a diverse set of candidates for each new vacancy to increase the level of representation we have across the organisation.

In 2020 we aim to deliver on our value of ‘Courage to Challenge’ through the roll-out of Courageous Bystander training, empowering our people to identify and challenge poor behaviours without fear.

Although it will take time to achieve true gender equality in the workplace, we are proud that the actions we are taking to create a more inclusive culture, are starting to show some more immediate, tangible benefits.
