DAS UK Group (DAS UK) has announced that subject to Regulatory approval, Tony Coram the company’s Chief Customer Officer, will be appointed CEO with effect from January 2022. Tony will succeed Andrew Burke who is stepping down as CEO at the end of this year.

Tony joined DAS in 2016, initially as Director of IT and Customer Operations, before becoming Chief Customer Officer in 2019.  He will work closely with Andrew over the coming months to ensure a smooth succession.

Oliver Willmes, COO of ERGO International, DAS’s parent company, said:

“I am delighted to be announcing the appointment of Tony Coram as our next CEO. Tony has played a crucial role in leading the delivery of our promises to customers and business partners and as a member of the Board has been absolutely integral to the development of the strategy.

“He knows the business and the people and can quickly work with the rest of the EMC and with the wider leadership team to deliver on our commitments to Customers, Business Partners and our owners, ERGO.”

Neil Macmillan, Chairman of DAS UK said:

“I would like to thank Andrew Burke for the very good and not always easy job he has done over recent years, restoring the business to stability and growth and enabling it to robustly see out the pandemic. He leaves DAS in far better shape than he found it, providing his successor with a solid platform from which to pursue profitable growth in the coming years.”

Tony Coram said:

“Andrew will be a tough act to follow and I have been fortunate to have had him as a leader for a good few years. The underlying performance of the business is strong and we can build on that in the coming years.

“We will continue to grow the business through sustainable partnerships where we share a desire to improve customer outcomes, underpinned by disciplined underwriting, claims and expense management. The long term prospects for DAS are very good indeed.”

Andrew Burke said:

“I would like to thank all of my colleagues at DAS and ERGO for their help and support in restoring the financial health of the business and seeing it through the pandemic. This is a great business, with some amazing people, and it has been an honour to lead it for the last 7 years.

“Stepping down is never an easy decision, but it is made easier by being able to hand over to somebody for whom I have enormous respect.  Under Tony’s leadership I’m confident the business will thrive.”
