AXA XL appoints Charlotte Wilson as Global Head of Portfolio Solutions
AXA XL has announced the promotion of Charlotte Wilson to global head of portfolio solutions, with responsibility for developing and executing the global strategy for portfolio solutions. Ms. Wilson will be part of Philippe Gouraud’s Global Strategic Distribution team and will take up her new role on 1 May. She will be based in London.
Portfolio solutions continues to be a key focus for AXA XL as increasingly brokers are looking to group a set of similar risks together and place them with a selected panel of insurers following a market tender process.
Ms. Wilson brings 17 years’ experience in insurance, having joined Sedgwick Insurance Brokers in 1996 as a graduate trainee. She went on to become a terrorism and political risk insurance broker, leaving Sedgwick (now Marsh) in 2002 to join Catlin Underwriting Agencies as an underwriting assistant in the Fine Art and Specie team. Most recently, as underwriting manager, Ms Wilson has overseen the continued growth of profitable business at AXA XL. Over the coming months, Ms. Wilson will work to ensure a smooth handover and transition of her current responsibilities and client relationships.
Commenting on the appointment, Philippe Gouraud, Global Head of Strategic Distribution at AXA XL, said: “Charlotte is perfectly placed to advance AXA XL’s unique portfolio solutions globally and I am delighted to welcome her to our global distribution team. Her wealth of experience in underwriting and structuring portfolio solution transactions will enable us to partner with our brokers in streamlining the placement of homogenous risks through a whole range of portfolio underwriting approaches. Whether through binders, line slips or contestable panels, AXA XL will be better positioned than ever to respond across our wide range of product offerings and global footprint.”
