AXA is donating £72,000 to charities across the UK to help them assist people most affected by coronavirus and the lockdown.

Employees nominated local causes they support, and then voted for the 36 organisations which will receive £2,000 each.

The charities that will benefit from the AXA Community Grant Scheme 2020 include: The Billy Chip, a Bristol scheme which helps homeless people (photo above); Demelza Hospice Care for Children (photo below); the Ipswich soup kitchen; the Tunbridge Wells Samaritans; the Helping Hands foodbank in the Midlands; End the Fear, which fights domestic abuse in Greater Manchester; and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.

"It’s fantastic to be able to support so many great local causes, at a time when they need it more than ever,” said Catherine Brunger, CSR & Education Manager, AXA PPP healthcare.
