AXA UK has worked with the British Menopause Society and ITN Business on a news-style programme to coincide with World Menopause Day which takes place this week.

Anchored by broadcaster and journalist Louise Minchin from the ITN London Studio, 'Menopause: Continuing the Conversation' takes a holistic look - from lifestyle to changes in workplace policy - at menopause and aims to support and empower women experiencing the perimenopause and beyond. Published on the British Menopause Society's YouTube channel, the programme features key industry interviews and news-style reports along with sponsored editorial profiles.

AXA UK's contribution includes interviews with colleagues and Tracy Garrad, CEO at AXA Health and D&I Executive Sponsor, who discuss why it’s important to talk about menopause and show how the company is supporting its employees at every stage of their life and career.

AXA UK is one of the few insurers to be accredited as a menopause friendly employer, which means it has been officially recognised as helping to promote and encourage better understanding and support around menopause in the workplace. AXA Health was also included as an example of best practice in the All Party Parliamentary Group on Menopause report, which was published earlier this month.

“It was really special to take part in this programme with ITN Business and the British Menopause Society and discuss a very important issue that will affect nearly every woman at some point in their life and, by extension, could also affect their family members. Despite the great work that’s been done to raise awareness through initiatives like World Menopause Day, menopause is still a sensitive topic and considered ‘taboo’ in many circles, and something that people still talk about in whispers. At AXA UK, we’re not only providing support to those who are experiencing menopause, we’re also providing advice and guidance to all colleagues so that we can reduce the stigma and allow everyone to be more comfortable with talking about it in an open way.” - Tracy Garrad (pictured), CEO at AXA Health and D&I Executive Sponsor
