  • Karl Parr named Non-Executive Director of the Insurance Fraud Bureau
  • Appointment underpinned by AXA’s commitment to fighting fraudulent insurance activity

AXA UK & Ireland and the Insurance Fraud Bureau today announce Karl Parr’s appointment as Non-Executive Director of the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB). As AXA’s Claims Technical Services Director and with vast experience in the claims and fraud space, Karl is well placed to advise and support the operations of the IFB.

The IFB aims to lead the insurance industry’s collective fight against organised fraud by sharing data and intelligence as well as promoting cross-industry collaboration to detect and disrupt organised fraud networks.

As part of the board, Karl will be involved in strategy direction and delivery as well as working with the Government on a fraud charter, which integrates insurance fraud into the larger economic crime plan.

Karl’s appointment is testament to AXA UK’s commitment to fighting fraudulent activity, investigating suspicious claims, and taking fraudulent claimants to court when necessary. This is essential to stopping these types of harmful practices and protecting honest customers from the consequences of unlawful activity.

Karl Parr, Claims Technical Services Director, AXA UK&I said, “I am delighted to have been appointed to the board of the IFB. Industry collaboration is essential to fighting insurance fraud and I am looking forward to working together with the Bureau and my peers to continue driving our mission to protect customers from fraudulent activity everyday.”

Ben Fletcher, Director, Insurance Fraud Bureau commented, I’m very pleased to welcome Karl as a Director on our Board, who comes with over 35 years’ working at the forefront of the insurance sector. As the nature of fraud rapidly evolves so too are our plans, including industry[1]wide consultation on IFB services, the unveiling of new counter-fraud technology and crucial engagement with government on its Economic Crime plan. Karl’s expertise will prove invaluable in helping to shape these ambitious projects and our strategic direction, which will undoubtedly enhance the industry’s collective fight against fraud.”
