Aviva donates further £10m to British Red Cross to help fight Coronavirus

British Red Cross employees and volunteers respond to an emergency every four hours, on average, in the UK – and this pandemic is no exception. Now more than ever, we need to come together across all sectors and support communities through this uncertain time.

To support them accelerate their response, reaching more people – and quickly – to ensure those made most vulnerable by the outbreak can get the right support at the right time, Aviva and the Aviva Foundation have given an additional donation of £10 million.

To enable the British Red Cross to continue supporting those coming out of hospital, ensuring they're safe, and working with hospitals to help ease the pressure, the funds will expand our existing support of the British Red Cross Community Reserve Volunteer (CRV) programme in the UK – something that's more important than ever during these times.

Outside of the UK, funds will be used to support the most urgent and impactful activity across the global Red Cross movement, with the support of our teams in these locations.
