AmTrust restructures PI division ahead of ambitious growth plans

AmTrust International has announced the appointment of Steven Moore as Lead Underwriter for Professional Indemnity within their Specialty division. Steven will be based in London reporting to Bruce Whitmee, Chief Underwriting Officer (subject to regulatory approval) and Angel Mas, Chief Executive Officer at AmTrust Europe Limited (AEL).

Steven has worked in the Professional Indemnity market for over 25 years and has been with AmTrust since 2014, writing risks for UK domestic, international and multi-national firms. Prior to this, Steven worked for 17 years at Royal & Sun Alliance as London Market Professional Indemnity Underwriting Manager. 

Russell Newell, AmTrust’s former Lead Underwriter for Professional Indemnity, is moving across to Collegiate, AmTrust’s wholly-owned Professional Indemnity MGA, in order to bring his significant knowledge and expertise to the underwriting unit within that operation. Russell has been a leading Professional Indemnity underwriter for over 30 years, having worked at Aegon, Canopius and AmTrust, and is a past chairman of PI Forum and was instrumental in introducing the Professional Indemnity examinations.
