AmTrust appoints Senior Underwriter to US Property CAT team
AmTrust at Lloyd’s (ATL), the Lloyd’s operation of AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a multinational property and casualty insurer, announced today that Lucy Forcey has joined as Senior Underwriter, North American Property Cat Treaty, a new line of business for ATL Syndicate 1861.
Chris Jarvis, Director of Underwriting ATL said: “Lucy is a great addition to the team and brings much experience and expertise to the role. We also look forward to welcoming additional team members by the end of the year including Greg Roberts who will be leading the team.”
He continued: “By adding this line of business to our portfolio we’ve expanded the scope of products we can offer our customers. Syndicate 1861’s 2019 business plan was approved this week including the addition of this market leading team. Their arrival is a key aspect in moving the Syndicate’s balance of business towards a more even split between direct and reinsurance lines.”
As part of their new North American Property Cat Treaty business, ATL have invested in a state of the art exposure management tool, to help them manage their portfolio exposure, pricing and access to information on a real time basis.
“This is a perfect ‘greenfield’ platform” said Mr. Jarvis. “Because there are no legacy issues to consider, we can create a new book with a great pricing structure based on enhanced decision-making. Our new team will be able to offer extremely quick turnaround on quotes, which benefits our customers and places us ‘ahead of the pack’”.
Mrs Forcey said: “I’m delighted to be joining AmTrust and excited to be part of the team launching this new class of business for Syndicate 1861. We see good opportunities to use best in class analytics to differentiate ourselves within this profitable line.”
Mrs Forcey began her career in 2006 as an Assistant Internal Auditor for Novae Group plc. She moved to the North American Binders team where she worked as Trainee Underwriter before moving over to the North American Catastrophe reinsurance team in 2011. Lucy was promoted to Class Underwriter in 2014.
