Seventeen Group has announced that it has acquired for an undisclosed sum Annandale Insurance Brokers based in Dumfries. The effective date of the transaction is 24th March. Annandale, which was originally started by Alex McEwan in 1977, is a Partnership and handles approximately £3million Gross Witten Premium, split two thirds commercial and one third personal lines. The Executive Partners, Denis Erne, Tom Aitchison and Andy Hall, plus all staff are remaining with the business and will continue to operate out of their existing Dumfries premises.
Seventeen Group is a privately owned insurance Group which includes James Hallam insurance brokers, Touchstone Underwriting and 4Sight Risk Management. Annandale will be integrated within James Hallam but will retain its existing name to reflect the value of this brand within the local market. James Hallam have a long standing Scottish presence with an office in Glasgow and this acquisition strengthens our position as an independent broker in a very important region.
Paul Anscombe, Chief Executive Officer of Seventeen Group comments “This is a long standing and highly regarded regional broker and we are delighted to welcome the team into Seventeen Group. We are grateful for the support of Clydesdale Bank in helping us complete this transaction and hope to make further acquisitions over the coming period”.
