Mandy van der Zalm joins PIB Group as Chief Broking Officer for Europe
The former Aon executive will lead and co-ordinate broking activity across PIB’s international division
Appointment is effective 1 October 2023
PIB Group Ltd has strengthened its European leadership team with the appointment of Mandy van der Zalm as Chief Broking Officer (CBO). Her appointment signal PIB’s ongoing ambition of building a leading specialist and diversified pan-European insurance distribution business.
Backed by world leading private equity firms Apax Funds and The Carlyle Group, PIB is on a drive for rapid international expansion. Its international division is home to several of PIB’s highly specialist businesses across Europe covering retail, wholesale, reinsurance and MGAs. Currently present in 7 countries across Europe, an ambitious target is underway for PIB to scale-up and create an extensive footprint in every country.
In her new position, Mandy will bring together broking capabilities and co-ordinate placement support across Europe. She will join the European leadership team led by CEO, Onno Janssen, to support these expansion efforts and connect specialists across the businesses or territories to drive further organic growth.

Mandy is a senior executive with a successful career of over 30 years. She trained and worked as a qualified corporate lawyer before joining Aon. Most recently she held the role of Chief Broking Officer for Aon Risk Solutions Nederland. Prior to this, Mandy held senior positions including Managing Director Public & Business Services and Construction, as well as Managing Director for Aon Professional Services.
