Kayzen Specialty launches new financial lines focused MGA

Kayzen-Specialty

Kayzen Specialty is delighted to announce its launch with effect from 13th July 2023 as a new specialty MGA, focused on the London and UK Regional Financial Lines market and led by Charles Boorman.

Kayzen Specialty's team of highly experienced underwriters based in London and the UK regions, and its in-house Head of Claims will leverage the power of human and computer interaction to provide unrivaled service delivery tailored to brokers' and clients’ requirements.

Kayzen Specialty offers a comprehensive product range covering Commercial Financial Lines and Financial Institutions, including Investment Management Insurance.

With 30 years of experience in the London market in client-facing, broking and underwriting roles, Charles has successfully led financial lines teams in both the Company and Lloyd's markets, from start-ups to mature portfolios in both build and turnaround situations. His extensive experience across the value chain and with multiple insurers has given him a unique understanding and insight into what works and doesn't work for clients, brokers, and underwriters alike.

James Sterling will join as Head of Claims in August. With 20 years of experience in the insurance market, James brings extensive expertise to the table. Having spent seven years as a solicitor specialising in insurance at a leading law firm, he then moved into technical claims handling roles across Specialty Lines products including Directors & Officers liability. More recently, he has held Head of Claims positions at two Lloyd’s Syndicates.

On the Underwriting side, Charles will be joined by Craig Watson ACII and Matt Whiteoak, both of whom are set to join Kayzen in the coming weeks. Both are highly experienced professionals with impressive track records in the industry, having consistently achieved exceptional underwriting performance across various underwriting platforms throughout their careers.

"I am very excited to launch Kayzen Specialty to the London and UK Regional Financial Lines market," said CEO Charles Boorman. "The team that has been assembled so far is extremely experienced. This is testament to the vision of the Company, how we will operate going forwards, and the USPs we will be delivering to our brokers and clients in the coming months. We will be building a broker centric business where the underlying risk characteristics will determine the balance between technology and human interaction to drive improvements and efficiencies into the market. This will ensure that Underwriters can concentrate their time on what they should be doing, underwriting more complex risk and delivering better outcomes for our brokers and clients.”
