Tim Kershaw, former AXA XL Head of UK, Middle Office has announced the launch of his new professional mentoring business TrACK Mentoring and Consulting to help serve the needs of organisations and individuals within the insurance industry and beyond.

The company has been launched to provide direct one-to-one mentoring to individuals at important times in their careers.  It also has independent consulting capabilities based on his accumulated knowledge and experience of many years in the industry.

Tim commented, “I want to help people ‘track’ their own development needs and work with them on their futures and the decisions they make to realise their potential and aspirations.  This builds on the numerous mutually rewarding mentoring relationships that I have had, and continue to have, with mentees from around the globe.”

Tim added, “In 2020, during lockdowns and remote working, I left my employer and had a wonderful opportunity to reflect and decide what I wanted to do next.  A rare gift.  Timing was not only good for me, but it also fitted well with the ‘strange times’ we are all living through.  People are working remotely and at times feeling isolated from their teams or colleagues.  Everyone has become familiar with and more comfortable communicating remotely over Teams and Zoom.  Mentoring meetings lend themselves to this perfectly.  It supports the confidential needs of being able to meet in private.  Mentoring helps individuals to feel less isolated and anxious about both their futures and their own abilities, especially when they are feeling less connected.   ‘Remote culture’ means they can miss the opportunity to talk about themselves as they could more easily do in a more ‘normal’ working environment. It can also support better mental health and wellbeing.”

Commenting on the launch of TrACK Paul Jardine, former Chief Experience Officer of XL Catlin, Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s and current Chairman of Asta and Chaucer said:

“As we emerge from the most challenging year many of us will have experienced, both personally and corporately, there is a desperate need for colleagues to be supported on their return to normal life and through the inevitable significant changes that will occur in the working environment.  What we have all learned over the past 12 months is the importance of colleague engagement, an inclusive culture and a spirit of human kindness and compassion. So, the timing of the launch of TrACK by Tim Kershaw is perfect and I know that Tim will make a real difference to those with whom he engages and the businesses that he will serve.

Having worked with Tim for many years, I can attest to his unending focus on people and their wellbeing and development. He is a role model for the modern manager and has inclusion in his DNA. I have seen the results his mentoring and coaching first hand and the positive impact that he has had on colleagues, both in their work and personal lives. I have no doubt that TrACK will be successful as it is founded on an authentic love of people and what makes them tick”.
