Brightside appoints Chief Operating Officer and restructures its top team

Brightside Group, the top 20 UK insurance broker, today announces the appointment of Tony Coram as Group Chief Operating Officer as part of a restructuring of its top team.

Coram joins Brightside from RSA, where he has held a number of leadership roles over the last 25 years, most recently that of Operations & IT Director for its Emerging Markets business responsible for 19 Global operations across Latin America, Middle East, Asia and Central & Eastern Europe.

In his new role, Coram will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for group operations and business transformation.

Asked about his new role, Tony Coram said “I am really excited about joining Brightside at this time. Opportunities like this don't come along often and the chance to join a great business and talented team under Andy’s leadership was compelling.”

Commenting on the appointment, Andrew Wallin, Group CEO said “Tony’s appointment further strengthens the Brightside Executive team and I am really excited about delivering our ambitious growth plans in 2015. Securing yet another high calibre insurance executive is testament to the industry’s belief in the potential that Brightside has to offer. “

This is the latest in a succession of senior appointments to the executive team and signifies the importance that is now being placed on Brightside’s ability to operate as a major player in the industry.

Andrew Jackson Director of Retail Broking and Simon Jones Ecommerce and Affinities Director have left the business.

The restructure brings together the retail and ecommerce functions to enable Brightside to deliver a consistent approach across operations, technology, sales and service; providing an improved customer experience.

Referring to the restructure Andrew Wallin commented “We have big plans for Brightside and we need a scalable structure which brings the business together, simplifying our business model and protecting what’s great about Brightside, whilst preparing for growth.

I’d like to thank Andrew Jackson and Simon Jones for the work they have done at Brightside and wish them well in their future endeavours.”
