Business Interruption assessment service addresses underinsurance issues highlighted in the UK

The service assesses sums insured and indemnity period

Independent Risk Survey provider AGB Risk Control Services have launched a Business Interruption assessment service to address underinsurance issues highlighted in the UK.

The service is designed to assist brokers and clients assess their sums insured and indemnity period by means of an appraisal visit. The visit is undertaken by industry experts with experience in assessing major losses.  Following the visit, a full report is produced with supporting financial assumptions.

Don Oakley, Sales Director AGB, comments “Several professional bodies quote their concerns regarding significant likely underinsurance, together with inadequate BI indemnity periods, hence specialist services to assist brokers are emerging to provide the necessary expertise.

AGB has built a reputation for providing quality property & liability surveys to underwriters & brokers. This new initiative enables us to broaden the scope of our offering to our customers and will promote higher standards and market confidence in BI”.

“A number of insurers now provide on-line assessment tools, it’s great to see an initiative that provides an experienced individual with a face to face visit to support brokers on the larger more complex risk”. Ian Stutz, Managing Director, Brokerbility.

“It’s significantly easier to resolve a complex BI issue pre-loss than post-loss and ultimately of course more cost effective”. Andy Hawkes, Director, THB Risk Solutions.
