AXA COMMERCIAL LINES AND PERSONAL INTERMEDIARY – MEET THE CLAIMS TEAM

‘At AXA we are really focused on leadership and development, and it is my job as a team manager to ensure that I focus on my people to get the most out of them and it is also my job to ensure that AXA delivers for them’ – Sonia Ford, AXA Liability Claims Team Manager

‘There a number of things that are unique about AXA Commercial property claims.  Perhaps the most important one though is our ability to ensure that we understand the needs of our customers and the implications for them when they have a claim’ – Martin Ashfield, AXA Head of Commercial Property Claims

‘Free courtesy vans irrespective of blame, medium sized courtesy vehicles for all our of customers’ -Mark Revans, AXA Head of Commercial Claims Strategy

‘So we don’t just simply view the claim as a piece of post that comes in and a phone call to be handled.  Our focus and mantra is absolutely on making sure that we do the best we can to get them back trading and back into business just as quickly as possible’- Martin Ashfield, AXA Head of Commercial Property Claims

‘With over 200 years experience, I know my team have passion to deliver technical excellence’ - Joanne Wolstenholme, AXA Liability Claims Manager

‘Consumer expectations are always on the increase and, therefore, our customers will expect us to do better ‘ - David Williams, AXA Underwriting Director

‘My proudest achievements really is related to the claims staff that we have.  It really makes me makes me immensely proud when I walk around the teams and see the job that our claims handlers are doing for our customer, especially where they get some really positive feedback’ - Chris Voller, AXA Claims Director

‘One of the best things about being in claims is that there are numerous things that genuinely make you feel proud when you see, you know, customers being able to get on with their lives.  You have businesses being able to continue to trade because of something your team has done’ – David Williams, AXA Underwriting Director

‘We put a great emphasis on the service we provide our customers’ - Paul Gardiner, AXA Technical and Customer Skills Co-ordinator

‘I have great pride in making sure my customers are satisfied’ - Mukesh Patel, AXA Commercial Property Incident Manager

‘It is really important to us that we develop relationships with our customers and we do that in a number of ways.  If you look at mid-Corporate business, we make sure that the claims team are involved just when we are tendering, when we are quoting for the business.  So before those customers even come to AXA, we have got the claims people involved so we can understand what is expected from us so we can also talk about what we are able to deliver’ - David Williams, AXA Underwriting Director

‘We want to help the customer through what could be sometimes a difficult situation in relation to the claim, and we want to develop that relationship further so it’s not just about the investigation process.  We help the customer then to explain what we could do to improve the risk potentially, how we prevent the accident from occurring again if we need to ’ -  Paul King, AXA Claims Investigation Manager

‘I really do take pride in what I do every day’ – Versha Patel, AXA Central Support Senior Administrator

‘The biggest challenge that we have at the moment is making sure we stay ahead of the competition.  We have got to keep our foot really hard pressed down on the pedal and allow no complacency whatsoever’ -  Martin Ashfield, AXA Head of Commercial Property Claims

‘The legal environment is ever changing and consider that this is likely to impact on claims costs and that is something we have to manage closely’ - Martin Steward, AXA Unit Manager – Large Loss Unit

‘We see fraud more and more now within liability claims’ - Paul King, AXA Claims Investigation Manager

‘Increase in incidents and sophistication, digital fraud and that together with cyber attacks with really powerful viruses like Stuxnet, Aurora and Flame are a concern for us’ – Mark Revans, AXA Head of Commercial Claims Strategy

AMANDA BLANC, CEO AXA COMMERCIAL AND PERSONAL LINES

AXA RESPONDING TO BROKERS' NEEDS

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the second edition of the revamped Commercialsense magazine and the first since we merged our Personal and Commercial Lines intermediary operations.

This merger has been very exciting, both from an internal perspective and, I believe, for the market.

I know insurers bang on about getting themselves closer to the broker, and you would be forgiven for suspecting that I am just going to offer the same platitudes.  But please believe me, this is not just a paper exercise that has been shuffled about at Board level.  It is a step that we have taken because it is what you have told us you want and we genuinely feel it will make life easier for you to deal with us.  And if we make life easier for you, hopefully you will work with us more often.

We want to support the broker channel as much as we can as it is absolutely vital to the health of our business.

Supporting the broker is the rationale behind a lot of what you will find in this edition of Commercialsense.  The merger aside, we have also embarked upon a joint venture with Insurance Age magazine to deliver a microsite dedicated to professionalism.

Here you will find plenty of advice and information about how you can start moving towards achieving Chartered status, and perhaps more importantly why.  There is quite a debate building up there and I would encourage you to have a look yourself and get involved.

We need to have these discussions and I would argue better to have them in a public forum where everyone can get involved.

There is also a snapshot of our latest seminar in Bordeaux, where we flew 20 brokers out for an intensive management training programme.  I know what you are thinking, training sessions are boring and pointless, but just take a look at the testimonials from the latest one.  They have been overwhelming and if you are interested in applying for future events, please get in touch with your local branch manager.

And finally, in what has been a very busy quarter, we managed to catch up with loads of you at the annual Broker Expo in Coventry.  With over 700 brokers attending on the day, it was a perfect opportunity for our relationship managers to make new contacts and re-establish old contacts.

Events like this always remind us what sets us apart from other financial services.  It is the human aspect to our market that makes us different.

Anyway that’s enough from me.  There is loads more in the mag, but I wanted to highlight some of the things AXA has done which hopefully make your working life easier.

We want to support you in the ways I have mentioned.  Not because we want a pat on the back, but because it is what you told us you wanted.

As always I welcome your feedback on anything in the magazine and, indeed, in the business.

I hope you enjoy it.  I hope that everything we are doing is giving you the support you need to conduct business in today’s market.
