The Insurance Charities gives vital financial and practical support to past and present employees of the insurance industry, and their dependent relatives.
We can help anyone who has relevant experience working in the insurance industry, in any role in the UK and Ireland, and who may now be facing hardship.
Established over 100 years ago we have helped many thousands of people in an extraordinary variety of way, from helping people hit by natural disasters such as floods; to helping fund essential surgery for children; assisting individuals facing debt through a change in circumstances; helping families facing severe illnesses; paying for essential home alterations and supporting people over the years who need help and on-going assistance.
Expert advice can help people find the right support and direct financial assistance is provided to meet a wide range of needs.
We welcome direct enquiries or applications via a third party such as a company's welfare department or other charitable organisation.
We rely on donations and fundraising from Individuals, Local Institutes and Insurance Companies and Intermediaries.
The Insurance Charities announce their awareness week and launch a one day cricket event fundraiser
If you haven’t taken part in The Insurance Charities Awareness Week (#ICAW) in previous years then now is your opportunity to get involved in their 2018 event.
To raise awareness of the charity among insurance employees the charity are sending out complimentary display boxes to insurance offices around the UK and Ireland filled with items for staff to take and find out more about the charity. Previous years items have included branded chocolate, pens and mobile phone holders.
The year’s event takes place between 25th – 29th June 2018.
To sign up your office simply email them with your company’s name, number of employees and your contact details.
Last year over 50,000 insurance employees from across the UK and Ireland took part. The Insurance Charities want to build on this and make this year even bigger.
As a culmination of the awareness week there will be a Charity Cricket Six-A-Side Day and Gala Dinner on Friday 29th June 2018. This event will take place at the iconic Honourable Artillery Company (aka the HAC) in the heart of the City of London. The money raised will go towards funding an employer’s Domestic Abuse toolkit produced by Business In The Community.
Graham Gooch, OBE and Ex-England Captain as well as other cricket professionals and ex-professionals will be participating in the Cricket Six-A-Side tournament. In the evening the red carpet will be rolled out for a gala dinner full of entertainment and celebration in the prestigious Prince Consort Rooms at the HAC with a champagne reception, 3-course meal, entertainment, personalities and surprise celebrities.
To sign up your company just email us with your name; company name; the number of employees in your company; and your contact details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
