RSA widens training and development programme with Chartered Insurer status

RSA is proud to announce that its UK commercial lines businesses and Chief Underwriting Office have achieved chartered insurer status amid a renewed focus on building technical skills and expertise across the group.

Commercial Risk Solutions, Global Risk Solutions and the CUO are today (10th May 2017) accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute. The CII aims to build public trust in insurance by raising professional standards, technical competence and business capability.

Chartered insurer status is an industry ‘kite-mark’ awarded to firms that demonstrate a commitment to the CII’s code of ethics and to supporting employees in achieving personal development and training through their CII membership.

Gaining chartered insurer status is one of a range of steps in RSA’s drive to support new and existing talent across the group and to support RSA’s aim of becoming a ‘best in class’ insurer.

RSA will expand technical expertise in three main ways:

·         Achieving chartered insurer status

·         Aligning the national apprenticeship standards levy with greater CII involvement and increased opportunities for training

·         Improving technical capability across claims, pricing and underwriting
