Robert Peston presents at Liberty's 'Unique Perspectives' event


A packed audience at Liberty Specialty Markets was treated to a fascinating presentation on the state of politics and economics by writer, broadcaster and ITV News political editor Robert Peston. In this, the first of Liberty’s Unique Perspectives events, Peston argued that the causes of growing dissatisfaction with the political status quo can be traced back directly to 2007’s credit crunch and impact of globalisation. He engagingly set out his observation that, as standards of living for millions of people in the West have fallen, so the desire to hit back at ruling political elites has grown. According to Peston, the result is political volatility on a scale not seen since the 1970s.
