Towergate Insurance has announced further investment into both its Lloyd’s of London wholesale and retail advisory teams based in the City of London.
Richard Morgan has been appointed as Sales and Service Director for a newly established City Branch, as part of Towergate Insurance Brokers (“TIB”), focussing on servicing UK Corporate businesses turning over between £15m and £500m.
Richard joins Towergate from Willis, where he was Development Director for five years. Prior to this, he held the position of Vice President at Marsh from 2005 to 2010.
Richard commented:
“There is a real opportunity to establish, shape and grow a market leading client service team for Towergate in the heart of London. We plan to build a dynamic team and have started in earnest looking for driven Account and Development Executives who recognise that this is the chance to start something special, with the backing of a sure footed and confident Towergate.”
Richard will report into David Armstrong, Area Director London South as part of the London Regional Team now reporting into Russell Collier.
In addition to this, Tim Simpson-Lee and Richard Turner will join Towergate London Market (“TLM”), our wholesale business dealing primarily with placement into Lloyd’s of London.
Tim joins Towergate from the Underwriting Management team at QBE having formerly held underwriting positions within Lloyd’s. During this time he implemented and developed a UK Liability book of SME business to complement the property account. Previously Tim worked with Windsor Insurance Brokers and Jelf placing business into the Lloyd’s and London markets.
Richard has most recently worked at Allied World Assurance Company (Europe) Limited as Assistant Underwriter. Prior to this he was Director of Property and Liability at Ellis Clowes & Company Ltd, placing business in UK and International Casualty, Property, Marine, D&O and PI Markets. He has also historically held positions at Thompson Heath & Bond Ltd and Aston Scott ltd.
