Miller has expanded its in-house analytical capabilities with the hire of experienced catastrophe (CAT) modeller Melissa Nunes.

Melissa has over six years’ experience in CAT modelling with knowledge across different territories.  Her wide range of expertise covers the use of the major vendor catastrophe models for multiple lines of business from both a reinsurance and direct perspective.

“Melissa has a wealth of catastrophe modelling experience and I am delighted that with her on board we can bring our CAT modelling capabilities in-house” commented Mark Zammit, Head of Analytics.  Head of Programmes and Board Member Gary Clark added "Clients and markets are demanding more analytical and sophisticated services from brokers.  Our ability to provide catastrophe modelling capabilities will significantly improve the valued service we already offer our customers."

The hire supports Miller’s drive to deliver an enhanced analytical service to clients with our resident experts working closely with broking colleagues enabling us to respond quickly and effectively to the insured’s needs as well as preparing our brokers for negotiations with markets.

Melissa joins Miller from JLT Re where she had worked as a Catastrophe Analyst since 2010 with experience in different geographical territories including time spent in Singapore.
