Melanie Alexander joins Lloyd’s Broker Shepherd Compello

Specialist insurance broker Shepherd Compello has today announced that Mel Alexander will be joining the firm as a Director responsible for Lender Protection related products, as well as the development of specialist delegated binding authority business. She takes up the position with immediate effect.

The firm, previously called EPG Insurance Services, launched its rebranded identity, in November 2014 with a strategy to grow both the team and the business in its specialist markets including Physical Damage Insurance, Motor truck Cargo, Extended Warranty and GAP, Marine Cargo, Catastrophe Exposed Commercial Property and High Value Homeowner’s Insurance.

With this appointment Shepherd Compello will enter the lender protection market. Classes of business will include; Mortgage Impairment, Lender Placed Property and Real Estate Owned risks.

Mel Alexander has been underwriting and delivering North American property business for over 30 years. Her experience includes working on a delegated basis to in-house binding authorities and facilities where she has drawn upon her extensive contacts and knowledge to provide bespoke solutions. Mel has worked at Nelson Hurst and has been Managing Director at both Arthur J Gallagher and most recently Decus Insurance Brokers Ltd.
