Marsh appoints Nick Durant Global Captive Solutions leader

Marsh has announced that Nick Durant will assume leadership of Marsh’s Global Captive Solutions Practice effective July 1, 2016. In this role, Mr. Durant will lead Marsh’s industry-leading captive solutions business, which provides advisory solutions and manages more than 1,250 captives worldwide.

Mr. Durant will be based in New York and report to John Drzik, president of Marsh’s Global Risk & Specialties division. He succeeds Chris Lay, who has been named president and CEO of Marsh Canada.

Mr. Durant brings 20 years of industry experience to his new role, most recently serving as Marsh’s global analytics sales leader responsible for efforts to institutionalise analytics as a core part of Marsh’s value proposition. Prior to joining Marsh in 2012, he spent 14 years with Guy Carpenter in various reinsurance leadership positions.

“Strategic advice and capital-based solutions have never been more critical for our captive clients,” Mr. Drzik said. “I am confident that Nick’s leadership will help us build on our current growth momentum and accelerate our innovation of new solutions.”

Mr. Durant added: “Organisations come to Marsh, the world’s largest captive manager, for a strategic one-stop approach to innovative captive solutions, integrating advice, implementation, management, and actuarial services. I’m excited to lead this distinguished team and build on its success.”
