A charity representing the Insurance industry grows its Board of Directors to a total of twenty members
The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation UK (IICF UK), the nonprofit organisation that unites the insurance industry in helping local communities through grants, volunteer service and leadership, today announced the appointment of six new members to the Board of Directors, bringing the total number of members to twenty.
Three new companies are represented on the Board:
- Julian Steedman, Chairman, Brandex Group of Companies
- David Melvin, Head of Corporate Transformation Strategy, MS Amlin
- Andrew Kendrick, Senior Vice President, Chubb
Three new representatives from founding board member companies also joined the Board:
- Stephen Bryans, Partner, KPMG LLP
- Chris Moseley, Managing Director, Insurer Solutions, Applied Systems UK
- Suzanne Scatliffe, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, XL Catlin
“We are thrilled to welcome all the new members and companies, from across the insurance industry, to our UK Executive Board. Their combined efforts and leadership will help us to raise funds through their valuable networks and to enrich the lives of those in the communities in which we live and work.” said Wendy Wilder, Executive Director of IICF UK.
This growth coincides with last month’s announcement that Barbara Bufkin, Executive Head of Business Development, Commercial Lines at Assurant, Inc., has been appointed to the role of Board of Governors Chair for the 2018/2019 term. Barbara has been involved with the IICF in the US for years in a variety of leadership roles, having served on its Board of Governors since 2013, and she will now have a seat on the UK Board as well.
The new members and representative companies will come together for the first IICF UK event of the year at the Conference on Leading Diverse Thought & Innovation, which will be held at the New Armouries at the HM Tower of London on 7th March 2018.
The conference will explore disruptive forces transforming Insurance, InsurTech solutions connecting companies to customers and communities, and how diversity drives innovation and future business results. Proceeds from the conference will support IICF grants in areas of education and social mobility.
